Communications Training

We can provide Communications Training tailored to the specific needs of your organisation. Normally a dedicated and intensive training day works best, but we can stagger the training across a series of workshops if this suits better.

Media Knowledge

There are essentially two parts to the Communications Training Programme. Firstly, we explain how the media actually operates on a day-to-day basis, what journalists are looking for, what editors are looking for, how news outlets differ, and the constraints and limitations under which they must process news. In this context, we would look at how your organisation needs to package its stories to get the right messages to the right audiences. This includes looking at the elements of good media event planning, press release writing and responding to day to day media queries.

Giving Good Interviews

Secondly, the training provides guidelines for giving good interviews. In line with these guidelines, participants are asked to prepare themselves for both radio and TV interviews. The interviews will be based on the live issues of the organisation and constructive feedback is given by Montague Communications and other participants.

Questions, Discussion Encouraged

Throughout training sessions participants are encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, provide examples and discuss scenarios. The training is as interactive as possible to enable participants to address and work on their own specific needs.
